In an on-going effort to raise public awareness on the importance of preventing, diagnosing, and treating dementia, the Foundation hosted a second Muntada forum on the topic of Dementia in November 2014.

The Muntada, entitled ‘Caring for, and communicating with, those with dementia’, welcomed speakers Marianne Talbot, author of Keeping Mum: Caring for Someone with Dementia, and Dr. Abubaker Almadani, consultant neurologist at Rashid Hospital, Dubai.

Speakers explained how to identify the early signs of dementia, provided an overview of the medical support available to dementia sufferers, and offered practial advice on the way to cope with stress when caring for those with dementia. A booklet titled “Caring for a Loved One with Dementia” was distributed to the audience with practical tips for each stage of dementia as it progresses.
