Second Series of Parenting Workshops Successfully Completed

Understanding that supportive and caring interactions between parents and children are key to family stability and happiness and a productive UAE, this spring we launched our second series of Parenting Workshops.

The workshops are part of the Foundation’s parenting initiatives within its Early Childhood Development program area. The series consists of nine sessions for parents who have children ages 0-5 years old.

Led by Dr. Kyle Pruett, a Clinical Professor in Child Psychiatry and Nursing at Yale University, the workshops use the Parents First curriculum developed at Yale and tailored for families in the UAE. The program teaches parents how to enhance their observational skills, become better attuned to their child’s developmental and emotional needs, and understand and regulate behavior.

Five Emirati couples participated in the second series, which took place in Abu Dhabi. We intend to offer a third series this fall.
