Al Fayah Park

The Foundation is developing a 100,000sqm park in the heart of Abu Dhabi, with gates scheduled to open to the public in late 2017.

Designed by the award-winning, London-based architect, Thomas Heatherwick, Al Fayah Park will provide a beautiful environment in which the community can come together; and will feature play areas, an exercise path, a flower garden, an organic fruit and vegetable garden and an oasis of plants native to the GCC. The park will also be home to a number of restaurants, a dedicated public library, prayer rooms, a traditional coffee house, an outdoor cinema, and several performance spaces which will host numerous festivals and community activities throughout the year.

This year, the Foundation is working on completing the park’s design and obtaining the required approvals from the various authorities. Since the Foundation is promoting environmental best practice, we are aiming at re-using as many of the existing trees as possible. For this, we have partnered up with the world renowned KEW Gardens of London.
