Launch of Parenting Workshops

With our mission of investing in the people of the UAE, in February the Foundation began its parenting workshops within the elaborate Parenting Program of the Early Childhood Development.

The Parenting workshops consist of nine sessions for a group of parents of children from the ages of 0-5 years old led by Dr. Kyle Pruett a Clinical Professor in Child Psychiatry and Nursing, Yale University Child Study Center.

Four Emirati couples have signed up for the program offered that is based on the Parents First curriculum; a parenting program developed by Yale University, tailored for families in the UAE that focuses on reflective parenting. All sessions are conducted in Abu Dhabi and led by Yale University faculty.

Parents First meetings are centered on a series of activities and discussions aimed at enhancing parent’s awareness of their children’s and their own experiences. The aim of the program is not to teach parents how to parent, nor is it to dispense advice. It is to encourage parents to listen to their children, and listen to themselves as these are the basis of healthy parent-child relationships.
