The Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship (SEAF) has announced its cohort of 2014/2015.
Founded in partnership with the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and now in its second year, SEAF identifies 15 aspiring artists to participate in a unique and innovative educational program, which includes academic courses, technical workshops, peer critique, and a trip to the United States to visit Providence, Rhode Island and New York City.
Over 40 UAE nationals and residents applied for the 2014/2015 program, with the chosen artists representing a diverse range of countries, including: The UAE, Syria, Jordan, Canada and India.
Interested applicants were invited to submit samples of their work, along with their CV and a cover letter, for the consideration of a prestigious panel of judges. Representatives from the panel then interviewed shortlisted candidates, before the final 15 emerging artists were selected.
